Classes for Fall 2024 are full. Registration is closed, and will re-open in November 2024 for the Spring semester starting February 2025.
If you’d like to be on the list to receive a reminder email in November with details about registration, please email: AdultEducation@occcda.org.
Other options available now:
- For Intermediate ESL students, we recommend visiting our partners at The Welcoming Center for more ESL class options.
- For Beginner ESL students, we will update our website when we learn of more options.
What to bring with you to Registration:
- $45 cash only (covers book + 5 months of instruction)
- a government photo ID that includes your address (example: passport card or book, or drivers license, etc.)
- Set aside 1 hour to take your placement test.
What to expect:
After taking a placement test, you’ll be placed in one of 6 levels of classes. ESL classes range from Pre-Beginners to Advanced. Students who already know English, or have completed Advanced level ESL, may enroll in GED classes to prepare to take a test for their high school equivalency diploma.
We offer morning & evening classes, 2 days per week, 2 hours per class.
To learn more, please complete your Interest Form.
Attendance:
If enrolled and accepted, we ask that you commit to being here for each class for the 5 month semester. If you must miss a class, in case of emergency, please notify your teacher before the class. Since we can only take a limited number of students and we may have a waiting list, if you miss more than 3 classes, you may lose your spot in the class. (Arriving more than 15 mins after class is scheduled to start is unacceptable; 3 unacceptable late arrivals to class could be considered as 1 absence). PLEASE ATTEND CLASS AND ARRIVE ON TIME. It is a very important part of learning English!
